Fun and easy Asian home cooking

Sawad-dee (Hello in Thai).

Cooking has always been a big part of me. Born in Bangkok, I spent most of my childhood in the rural North-East of Thailand where I embraced the rich local traditions and exotic culinary techniques. I believe rural Thailand is where the heart of authentic Thai cooking rests.

I was ignited and inspired to learn how to cook at very young age. I vividly remember when I was just six or seven years old and my grandmother taught me how to steam sticky rice. It was quite challenging for a young kid who had no proper training. Fortunately, my dear mother, grandmother and aunties are my true master chef and personal inspiration. Since then I was hooked.

Where does “Jolly Kitchen with Kiet” come about?

Well, friends who regularly join me for lunch or dinner often request me to share recipes or start my own cooking class. I was hesitant at first because my cooking was just for fun to share good food with friends. So I put all those thoughts behind me.

Funnily enough, one day while I was browsing the internet and that thought about creating my own cooking lessons came to me. One thing led to another I ended up shooting the first video and creating a Youtube cooking channel. So, “Jolly Kitchen with Kiet” is result of my true passion about home cooking. I want to share my knowledge to everyone and I hope all of you can take something from it. My name is Kiet and welcome to Jolly Kitchen!
