A great finger food party is bringing smiles to everyone's faces. Let's face it when you throw a house party people do really care what you are going to offer. Food is the most important that will make people talk about you in a good way or bad way before, during and after the party. I'm here to help you set the new bar! Let's go!
Ingredients:
Spring roll pastry 50 sheets or as required
Minced pork 350 g
Fish sauce 1 tbsp
Chilli flake 2 tsp
Toasted rice 1 tbsp
Shallot ¼ cup
Mint 10 leaves
Sawtooth coriander (Culantro) 10 leaves
Chive/spring onion for wrapping
Cooking oil
How to make
In a large bowl, combine the minced pork, fish sauce, chilli flake, toasted rice, chopped shallot, mint leaves, and sawtooth coriander.
Take one sheet of spring roll pastry and place a spoonful of the filling in the center.
Fold the wrapper over the filling and roll it up to form a cylinder.
Cut the cylinder in half and wrap the two halves around each other, tucking in the ends. Repeat with the remaining sheets and filling.
Heat oil in a wok or a deep saucepan until it reaches a temperature of 175°C.
Deep-fry the wontons in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, around 2-3 minutes.
Remove the wontons from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove any excess oil.
Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
