Thai Sun Dried Pork

Thai Sun Dried Pork

Hi there internet family. I hope you are doing well. As we know that it is such a challenging time due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some of us maynot be fortunate to keep their jobs, or lose their loved ones. It is a great time to show kindness and keep yourself safe. Stay home, watch your hand and practice social-distancing. We are in this together.

Ingredients

  • 1kg pork neck

  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsbp salt

  • 6-8 garlic cloves

  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

How to make

  • Start by peeling and crushing the garlic and black pepper, if using. Set aside.

  • Cut the pork neck into long strips and add it to a mixing bowl.

  • Add the crushed garlic, oyster sauce, salt, sugar, and sesame seeds to the pork. Mix well and make sure the marinade coats the pork evenly.

  • Skewer the pork strips on the bamboo skewers.

  • Place the skewers on a cloth rack and cover it with mosquito net sheets and ziplock bags to keep the pesky insects away.

  • Now it's time to let the sun do its magic! Take the rack outside and let the pork dry in the sun for a few hours.

  • Once the pork is dry, it's time to cook! Heat oil in a pan on medium heat and fry the pork until golden brown. This step will make your kitchen smell amazing!

  • Let the pork cool down a bit before serving. Enjoy your homemade sun-dried pork as a snack or side dish.
