BBQ Squid Thai Style

Hello there, welcome to Jolly Kitchen, it’s me Kiet once again. In the next ten minutes, you will learn how to make a simple BBQ squid Thai style with super delicious secret seafood dipping sauce. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Ingredients

Squid and marinade ingredients

  • 3-4 large squid

  • 2tbsp turmeric powder

  • 1 ½ tbsp black sweet soy sauce

  • 100ml water

Dipping Sauce Ingredients

  • 5-6  Bird’s eye chilli

  • 3-4 pineapple chunks/ slices

  • 4 garlic cloves

  • 4 tbsp fish sauce

  • 3 tbsp lime juice

  • 100ml warm water

  • 3-4 coriander roots

  • 2-3 coriander stems and leaves

How to make

  • Clean and prepare squid by removing the head and internal organs, making markings on the tube, and cleaning with salt and tapioca flour.

  • Marinate squid in a mixture of turmeric powder and sweet soy sauce for 15-20 minutes.

  • To make the dipping sauce, blend together chilli, pineapple, garlic, coriander roots, lime juice, and fish sauce. Season to taste.

  • Cook squid on a hot pan or grill until just cooked through, being careful not to overcook.

  • Serve with the dipping sauce and enjoy.
